Brielle...

So today I am 35 weeks along...yippee! As the end draws near I've been trying to start getting things ready for Brielle's arrival. I've been having a lot more pressure and some contractions...which could easily be normal with her being my 2nd baby but I can't help but wonder if it might mean she's thinking about coming a little early! As long as she holds off until AFTER xmas I'll be happy! I think this week I'm going to pack my hospital bag (or at least start!) and we are trying to get a couple things set up like her crib in our room and such. We're going to wait until after Christmas before bringing up the swing and bouncer and all that stuff b/c our living room is too full with the xmas tree as it is!

But recently I realized that we had completely forgotten about Brielle's middle name! What a horrible mom I am haha...poor 2nd child syndrome....she almost could have ended up middle nameless :-P If you remember we were trying to incorporate "Lee" in her middle name somehow but just weren't finding anything we could agree on, and I was hesitant to pick something completely random b/c Raya  has  my middle name and I wanted Brielle's to mean something too.

Well, I believe it was my sister in law Emily who gave me the idea awhile back about using Lee's middle name and how really there was no reason why it couldn't work for a girl. The more I thought about it the more I liked it, and Lee (who really at this point doesn't care what the heck her middle  name is! haha) agreed. So without further ado, baby girl number 2 will be:

Brielle Alyn H.

Alan is Lee's middle name and Alyn is the feminine varient of Alan. We will pronounce it just like Alan ( and yes, we realize others could easily butcher the pronunciation of her middle name but we decided it doesn't matter b/c how many times in your life does anyone really read and try to pronounce your middle name? :-P)... and now Raya will have my middle name and Brielle will have Lee's middle name. I think it's cute :-) Plus the meanings I've found so far for Alyn include "precious" "attractive" "harmony" and "peace" ....can't beat that!

We're very much looking forward to meeting little Brielle Alyn soon! And just today Lee said again "and remember, it could still be a boy....I haven't given up hope!" lol....oh what a scene he will cause in the delivery room if the doctor says "it's a boy!"   :-P

NEWSFLASH!

....it has just come to my attention that Miss Raya is actually a long lost TRIPLET! And to my surprise she's the "dainty" one  of the group :-P

Crazy Busy!

Things are absolutely CRAZY BUSY around here right now! Next week is my last week watching the twins so that will help some, but losing playmates for Raya is not going to be easy either. She spent the first 20 minutes today following them around and hugging them :-P

I finished  up the  last of my Etsy orders last night (yay!) so that is done  for awhile. Now I need to start making a bunch of hats since I plan to give some as xmas gifts and such! It was cool though b/c last night I discovered that I could download all my crochet patterns on to my new Nook and they are so much easier to carry around and read that way than on my computer! I'm really lovin' my Nook so far, for anyone wondering if they may like something similiar also. I thought it would be weird to read books on an electronic thing, but it's actually not at all. It's different technology than your computer screen so it doesn't hurt your eyes to read it, even for long periods, and it's soooo much easier to hold and carry around the Nook than a big book. I bought my first book last night and have already read a ton of it today while the kids played on the slide downstairs lol.

Ok, now for the  super crazy busy part...this relocation stuff moves FAST! Like I said, lee's new job gave us a relocation package but I had no idea how fast they'd move us along!!! We've already been contacted by our realtor who will be helping  us find a new home, and Lee is calling her back after work today to discuss details....I wouldn't be surprised if she has us looking at houses over xmas break! She knows we can't buy until we sell, but lee thinks she may suggest we put an offer on a home (if we find one we like) and make it contingent on selling our home...which would be a good plan except for if someone else who doesn't have a home to sell ends up buying it out from under us after we've already fallen in love :-P We shall see! Lee also has a meeting tomorrow already with the loan officier they assigned us to go over our loan qualifications and everything so we know how much we qualify for when buying our new home. Like I said, they move fast! If we were doing this on our own we wouldn't have even started looking in to any of this yet, so it is very nice that we have all these people contacting us daily to move things along. The only  thing annoying  me so far is that they are going to send  in 2-3 realtors to look at our current  house and price it, and then we can pick the one we like best to actually market our home and sell it for us. ...and our relocation counselor wanted to start sending in teh realtors to do their walkthrough and price the house THIS WEEK! Yeah, I about flipped out haha. I told lee to please pass on my message that no, we will be having no realtors in our home until after xmas...how the heck do I get it show ready with 3 toddlers here all day?! Granted the realtors aren't prospective buyers, but they will set our sales price based on what they see, so I obviously want the house to look nice when they come. I'm sure  I'll be keeping everyone posted as this drama plays out lol...

So yes, my plate is  packed full  right now and shows no signs of letting up until we are unpacked in our new home, god only  knows when....and while I'm thinking of it, just add a newborn baby around January to that mix :-P

Enough whining, here are some cute Raya pics from yesterday!

My fav hat (from children's place...i didn't  make it haha) ....she actually left it on!

She looked so cute in herr  get-up....and her and I went into town for a little bit yesterday to try and finish up some xmas shopping....but sadly she had a diaper EXPLOSION and ended up in a sad combo of clothing that was (luckily) in the bottom of her diaper bag....and about 2 sizes too small lol. The best part? She wanted to play in the mall on the play equipment, so she frolicked around in her weird outfit publicly :-P She had soooo much fun though! She always thinks other kids are playing with her when they aren't. She will just follow random kids around squealing and she thinks they are chasing her and stuff, when really they aren't paying her any attention. It's so cute to watch haha.

....my parenting fail....letting her watch Pooh for the 1 billionth time, standing directly in front  of the TV no less. In my defense I'm pregnant and tired and I'll (probably) limit TV when all the craziness settles down. For now, Pooh it is! :-)

And yes, she looks like those starving Ethiopian children with her bloated belly sticking out haha.
She has been so weird about her eating lately, hardly eating anything at all and throwing
huge tantrums if we offer her food that she doesn't want. Last night Lee asked me to call an Exorcist,
her tantrum was THAT bad. I  think she's got a little bug maybe though...with the diaper explosions
and not wanting to eat....well, you do the math :-P

Brielle 34 weeks

So yesterday before we left for Lee's xmas party I decided to do a 34 week belly shot (take advantage of actually being dressed up for a change lol). I'm definitely growing! :-) Still feel slightly smaller than I was with Raya, but it could just be in my head. It's really hard to compare with 18 months inbetween the two babies haha.

So here I am at 34 weeks with Brielle....

...and this is me pregnant with RAYA at about the same time (i was a week or so further along with Raya here....i didn't take a 34 week pic with Raya.)

Definitely think  I was sticking out front a little more with Raya at this time....but equally cute both ways of course :-P

Oh, and then let me just admit that some creative cropping took place in the first photo. I will go ahead and share the REAL belly photo experience with you now. It's picture proof of why I'm certain Brielle is in absolutely no hurry to arrive ....I mean, if you were here would you want to abandon the sound barrier you've been blessed with?! haha...I think not....she's no dumby....she's staying on the inside as long as possible! :-)

Lastly, we had a good time at Lee's work party last night (and Raya had a blast at Erins! When i picked her up she was sleeping, but she immediately got up and started playing with toys and when I tried to put her coat on her she said "no no Mama!" and ran away haha). And about Lee's party, it was almost kind of sad b/c it's his last one. I remember that was the first "thing" he took me to when we started dating where I was basically introduced publicly as his girlfriend haha. We had started dating on Nov. 12th and then a couple weeks later I was his date to the Christmas party :-) Ahhhh, the memories. I always like going to his work party b/c they give away nice gifts too. Last year  he got a laptop, which was obviously nice but since he thought so too he's kept it for himself (bummer!)....but this year I was in luck! The gifts he got were a Nook electronic reader (in case you don't know what that is it's a way to basically download and read thousands of books on a handheld electronic device....so instead on having books all over your house and carrying big books around you just have everything on this little reader....here's a link to the Nook site: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nook/index.asp?PID=34323&cds2Pid=35700 )  ....and for those who know Lee you understand that the man doesn't read! So that wonderful gift was instantly mine :-P Then the other gift he got was this tiny HD video camera, which is really cool. Basically a video camera the size of my phone, so it'll be much easier to actually keep on me and take more videos of the munchkins. And since Lee doesn't really do the video recording in our house that one was instantly mine too....Merry Christmas to Shawna! :-)  This is the video camera....Lee even picked out this pretty aqua one for me http://us.store.creative.com/Vado-HD-3rd-Generation-Cyan/M/B002YBTWJ8.htm

Don't miss the update I did yesterday about Raya's trip to the Christmas tree farm!

"Fun" at the Christmas tree farm

My wish came true....it snowed JUST in time for us to go accross the street to the tree farm and pick out the perfect family Christmas tree for 2010!!!! It simply wouldn't have been the Christmas spirit without snow on the ground for this occassion :-)

So this morning we bundled Miss Raya all up (first time in her snowsuit actually leaving the house! haha) and we were off down the road!

I'm sooo excited Mama...this will be fun!
Once we got outside our house I thought I'd let her walk to the car....ya know, let her experience her first time being outside in the snow this season. Her face really says it all....

"This frickin' blows"

Then I sat her in her carseat for the trip a few feet down the road. Luckily we weren't going far b/c Raya was not exactly comfortable wearing her get-up!

Once we got there Daddy led Raya "over the river and through the woods" (actually it was a pond, but you get the idea :-P) to find that perfect tree!

So stinkin' cute!

Her little legs eventually got tired....

You may remember last year's trip to the tree farm....we had Miss Raya pose with a tree just her size!

So this year I wanted to do the same thing....you know Mama's always thinking about those cute photo-ops! Well, Miss Raya thought this was pretty much the worst idea ever and she succeeded in making this year's tree pic a doozy...

"This is humiliating Mama!"
Then the poor thing fell....which REALLY pissed her off! :-P

At this point I decided I better find the perfect tree and FAST! ....b/c the little diva had officially decided she wanted to be a scrooge! :-) Well people, then I saw it....that perfect tree...all 7 feet of it...

Totally lovely right?!

Miss Raya approved....although at this point she approved of whatever got us out of there the fastest!

Time to pose with Daddy too!

"....I'll close my eyes and think 'there's no place like home, there's no place like home'..."

Then  I ordered my manpower to cut that bad boy down!

TIMBER!

You better not expect ME to carry that back  to the car Daddy!
But then you know what happened when we got back to the car? Well as we waited for them to clean the tree up and package it for us they offered Miss Raya a candy cane, and suddenly Christmas tree farms were the most fun thing EVER! The child loves food....they had won her over! :-)

Yum!

Unfortunately though I turned away for 1 second and look back to find that Raya had fallen face first in the snow! When I picked her up she had snow stuck to her face and candy cane juice all over her face....with a sad tiny peice of broken cane still clutched in her sticky fist

But then Daddy used snow to clean her up and she was all better!

....but she still thought the whole experience was overrated

Mama had fun though!!!!! :-)

When we got home we decorated the tree....Miss Raya, no surprise, loved the lights!

Isn't our tree beautiful?! :-)   ....unfortunately the true beauty of all the lights cannot be captured on film :-P

Where's Raya?

So LAST year at this time Raya had just recently learned to sit unassisted. I had so much fun taking pics of her in front of the Christmas tree b/c I'd just plop her there and snap away. Ahhhhh, those were the days....

I'm realizing now that the pretty glitter "balls" on the tree in this picture are not on our current tree!
I knew I was missing something! haha...better go in the basement and find them :-)

So this year do you think Raya would sit in front of the tree for a nice picture? OF COURSE NOT!

Looks like she's having all the fun you'd have during Christmas in prison or something :-P
The little stinker though discovered she can now sit on the tv speaker and gaze at the tree....so then suddenly pictures by the tree were no problem!

Aren't her holiday jeans cute? :-)

So all in all another memorable Christmas tree experience! :-) If you want to re-live last years Christmas tree extravaganza journal entry you can read it here: http://rayamarie.livejournal.com/34712.html   She's grown so much in one  year!!! Can't wait to take Brielle along on next year's tree hunt....although we'll have to find a new tree farm to visit since we won't be living here anymore!

And to end, this morning I also attempted to get pictures for this year's Christmas card. Lee and I decided we weren't really up for doing a family photo...with the dogs and Raya and us it's just nearly impossible to get a good one of everyone, and the thought of trying made us tired :-P So I decided to do a little photoshoot with Raya and hope that I could come up with something salvageable!  Well I'm not going to share the actual Christmas card I ordered b/c I want people who recieve it to be a little surprised (but I will say my total was almost $70, but once I entered my glorious coupon code for writing that blog entry about Shutterfly my bill was $0!!) ....but here are some of the "reject" photos from our card attempt....

As expected she was whiny and uncooperative ...honestly, doesn't it look like she wants to punch me in this one?!

....and she didn't like my other outfit options any better either! :-P

So keep your  expectations for this year's holiday card low haha....she maintained throughout our photo session that this was pretty much the low point of her short little life thus far :-P

Merry Christmas!! :-)

...and now later Mommy and Daddy get to attend Lee's work Xmas party while Miss Raya plays at Erin's house for the night! Raya hasn't seen those twin boys forever, (and now Erin's new baby!), so I hope she behaves herself!!!!

Just the two of us...

Ever heard the Will Smith song "just the two of us" ?? Well, that song  sums up the love Miss Raya currently has for Mr. Owl.

This owl has it made! As you can see she takes quite good care of him now....although don't expect her to go sharing her food with him yet....she doesn't love him THAT much! ;-P

I'm glad Mr. Owl is finally getting the lovin' he deserves haha.

Exhausted!!

Well people, it's official. I've entered that final stage of pregnancy where you're simply exhausted and have lost the will to do pretty much everything haha. The girls are all napping, and while I have a list a mile long of things I need to get done I simply can't convince myself to do anything other than sit on the couch! :-P So I figured I would be at least semi-productive and do a blog update from my comfy seat here haha.

Now before you say I should be napping let me say that I've never been a napper. I always feel worse after waking up from a nap then before I laid down. Even when I'm really tired I just don't like to take them....I wish I could! A big reason for the fatigue setting in is that I can no longer sleep, which is a major bummer. Luckily I'm still only getting up 1, maybe 2 times to pee at night, but poor Brielle has been getting hiccups and maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to get a restful nights sleep when a hiccuping baby's head is repetitively slamming my cervix :-P Just over 6 weeks to go though...we're in the home stretch!

So the girls probably all think I've been pretty grouchy lately (watching the twins certainly doesn't help make me less tired, but I honestly don't think it'd be any better if I wasn't watching them, b/c they do help entertain Raya ....so if I didn't have them here I think Raya would be more tiring then she is....it's pretty much a wash either way) ....but I HAVE been trying to do some fun things here and there still. Yesterday we made ornaments and then had fun decorating them with lots of glittery foam stickers!

Raya actually did put the stickers on her ornament and participated in the craft for a good 5 minutes or so, which is an improvement from other crafts i've tried with her! However her "look" in this picture still sums up her feelings about these activities in general haha

Today, since it's Dec. 1st, I decided to break out her very festive holiday outfit that I got her on super clearance after xmas last  year. Since she was looking festive I thought "what the hell, maybe I'll get a cute picture of her that I can crop in some way and use for a Christmas card photo" ....so I followed her around this morning for awhile snapping pictures and nope! Pictures and Raya do NOT mix! If you do happen to get a decent one of her looking she will most certainly not look happy lol....damn toddlers

...and if you attempt to sit her on something so that she's stationary for a picture she basically says "screw you" and get down immediately before you can even get a single picture!

....I give up...seriously. I'm pretty sure her xmas card photo will be of the back of her head....or else her duct taped to a chair--in which case please don't forward our xmas card on to CPS :-)

Hey, I have an idea! Maybe our Xmas card photo should be a "true life" snapshot....you know, one that depicts a typical day-in-the-life ....maybe kinda like this one?

Not sure what  you're looking at? Well that's Miss Raya of course! ...clinging to my leg and whinning
for food, a constant occurance :-P  Oh, and that big purple blob? Well that's my current view when I try
to look at my feet....say Hi to baby Brielle! :-)

My belly really isn't all THAT big right now I don't think....but it sure looks big
from this view!!
It's a good thing she's cute....because otherwise this tired Mama wouldn't handle the toddler tantrums nearly so well!

...and now I think I'm going to make myself some hot chocolate (sugar free with added calcium...don't worry! :-) and kick back on the couch while I enjoy my (hopefully) last hour of nap time. ....although my darling daughter likes to spice things up about 3 times a week by waking up right about now to boycott her nap....let's hope for the sake of my hot chocolate break  that she doesn't do that today!
