Puketastic! Aka, the night from hell.

Let me tell you, as a mom there is no sound more frightening than the pitiful cries of "mama!" interspersed with gagging/coughing and vomit. Lots of vomit.

Last night it was about 11pm and I was taking a break from sewing to watch a little Teen Mom, my guilty pleasure. Then I heard it. I paused the TV and sure enough "Mama!!!!!!!!!!!!!"...and crying, gagging, coughing. I run into Raya's  room and OMG. Let's just say her entire crib had a puketastic night. "I puke on owl" was heard repeatedly haha. I screamed for Lee who took on bedding duty while I took poor Raya  to the bathtub and worked on cleaning her up. During her bath she kept saying "I go play with library books Mama" (I had promised to take her to the library when she w oke up in the morning lol) so I thought maybe the puking was a fluke and she felt OK. I put her in clean pjs, in a clean crib, she went right to sleep and I though "whew....that could have been a lot worse!"  .....fast forward 15 minutes and the whole thing plays out again. Yeah, we were definitely in for a long night.

Finally around 3ish in the morning she fell asleep in the living room (after more puking, and more puking ;-(    ...about 5:30am I moved her to her bed again because things seemed to be settling down and she wok up about 7:30am seemingly feeling much better. At least whatever she had  seems short lived! I just praying Brielle and I don't get it though.

Lucky for me Raya has been content to eat cereal and watch TV for much of the day so far.

She insisted on the rainboots. Don't ask.

Grandpa, she wore the gymboree outfit you found for her. It's big on her yet, but she seemed to like it!

I knew she was feeling more like herself when she started hiding under the table to get away from my camera :-P

By the way, my house has been  vomiting all over itself too :-P This is the current state of our living area as we try to start packing up stuff to take to my parents' house.

The plus side? Well, Raya is able to entertain herself with the storage containers by building a "fort" ...she's sick and still so creative :-)

Trip update, Part 2

Here are the pictures I promised from my camera. I let Megan be my photographer for the most part, but I did take a couple this weekend :-)

Then here are the girls before we left for the reunion. Everyone commented on what a smiley, happy baby Brielle is. And Raya played the part of sullen older sister quite well LOL.

Daddy and Raya were exhausted when we got home from the reunion, so they fell asleep in the chair. I love getting pictures of Raya when she is asleep, because it doesn't happen very often now that she's older. It makes me miss the days when she was my cuddly baby!

Now we are home and drowning in crap as we try to prepare for our move next week! I swear, you haven't experienced true torture until you've tried to move a 5 bedroom house and 2 little kids. I can only imagine how horrible it would be if we didn't have movers!!!!!!! It's still a complete pain though trying to sort out what we need to take to my parents, catching up on all the laundry so that the movers don't move dirty clothes, trying to pack up some of the paperwork/pictures/etc. that we don't want the movers to touch, etc. etc. This is going to be a very loooooong week!

I finally just  closed my Etsy shop today to try and cut back on some of the insanity. Unfortunately I still have about 12 orders to get out from earlier, but at least I won't have any new orders coming in. I really didn't want to put the shop on vacation because last time I did that for maternity leave it took me a couple really slow months to get my shop in the ball game again but it had to be done. Maybe when I  get moved to my parents I will have time to try some new design ideas!!!

Oh, the good news though? Lee was able to fix our internet, so I can use the computer in the living room again, and not on the deck :-P

We're back!

Our trip to IL for the big H family reunion was a success! We had tons of fun, especially seeing Lee's brother Shawn and his wife Megan. The girls got some great Aunt and Uncle time in, and also got to "see" baby boy cousin to be!

When we got home today though we discovered our wireless internet box died while we were gone. We aren't buying a new one though with only a week and a half left living here, so we are borrowing (with permmission) our neighbor's wireless internet to get us by. The bad news though is that it only works if I"m sitting on the deck and perched in my master bedroom window LOL. So needless to say I may not be as active online until we move. I"m going to keep my words to a minimum here in the blog and stick with these cute pictures that Megan took this weekend....enjoy!

Farewell my friends

...I won't be updating the blog for awhile. Yes, it's OK to cry.

Instead of blogging we'll all be enjoying the annual H. family reunion! I'm sure I"ll have plenty of pictures to share after our fun filled weekend, so stay tuned :-)

Lastly, in AWESOME house news, it's officially sold! All the paperwork has come in from our buyers and we are good to go. We will close with our relo company on the 19th (and get our money...yippee) and then after that they will hang around and close with our buyers in Oct. The movers are packing and moving us on the 15th and 16th, so in less than two weeks we'll be living with my parents. We are trying to close on our new house in early Oct., but the house they were going to move into while they build their next one fell through, so now they are scrambling to find a rental or something. Which means we might have to wait until Oct. 26th before closing if they can't move out sooner. We'll see. It will be annoying to live out of boxes that long but at least we know we're moving into someplace super cool :-)

Raya's new do, Part two

So the verdict is in....Lee hates Raya's haircut LOL...oops! He didn't throw a fit or anything, but just said she looks like a boy. I think she looks cute though, and I win :-P I don't know why guys tend to think you have to have long hair to be girlie....I think there are lots of cute short styles and I'd rather have a cute short haircut as opposed to long stringy hair. Some people just don't have the type of hair that looks good long!

To appease Lee though we put in some piggy tails last night to show him it's still possible LOL. I like her hair better without, but if pigtails make daddy happy we'll try them :-)

This morning I got a kick out of Raya. I take her shirt off when she eats because she won't  leave a bib on. Well today after she was done eating breakfast she put her own shirt back on. I heard her calling "I did it Mama!!!" and when I looked I saw this:

Now that's talent...turning a pj top into a strapless tank...very nice Raya, very nice :-)

This morning Raya spent most of the morning playing with a squirt bottle of water. She carefully squirted water into her hands...

...and then "washed" Brielle with  it. Poor Brielle, she was washed and washed and washed until she was quite wet!

In other news, Raya continues to be evil. She is way too smart for her own good and uses it for evil means :-P Today she knew I wanted to take pictures of her hair so she did this:

Before I go, a house/moving update! We have scheduled with the movers!!!!!!!!!! In 2 weeks we'll be saying goodbye to our house here forever (tear)...we'll then be living with my parents for 2 weeks (minimum) but possibly a month or so. We aren't closing on the new house until the end of Oct. as of now, but our realtor said they'd be willing to move that up for us....we just don't know how much they can move it up yet, but we're hoping the beginning of October. It's so exciting that we are so close  to being in our new place....I  just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's one more picture I just had to share. My aunt was married back in April and she sent me a picture the other day in the mail from her wedding of Raya and Sawyer dancing together. How stinkin' cute are they? They look like a little married couple doing spins on the dance floor hehe. So cute :-)

Tomorrow we get to see Lee's brother and his wife who are coming from Ohio....we can't wait!!! Aunt Megan and Uncle Shawn are always a big hit :-)
