Catching Up

(My Trendy Tot Tuesday post is at the bottom :-)

Monkey madness. On the left is Brielle's "dirty monkey"....which she got at age 3 months (attached to a paci) and used religiously for a good year or more. Dirty monkey has basically no stuffing left, is faded and worn....hence her calling ...it dirty monkey. In the middle is "clean monkey", which ironically enough is very dirty! This is what I switched and gave her a year ago as a replacement for dirty monkey. When clean monkey is lost she uses dirty monkey On the right is no-name monkey...this was our 3rd back-up that she never allowed to come in contact with her....she hates it because it's clearly an imposter. But it's funny to compare it to the others, since at one point they all looked *identical*. I plan on keeping no-name monkey for her future children hehe.

If you don't have your own children you can't understand the psychology of the "lovey" and the extent we will go to in order to preserve it

Raya's school picture came back last week---it turned out much better than last year at least!

(excuse the poor quality---I took a picture of the picture haha)
Some things Raya has learned so far this year at school are rhyming words, figuring out the characters/setting of a story, they've been doing the Handwriting Without Tears program (which I loved back when I worked as a school psychologist) and she has learned left vs. right, they are also doing a Read it Again program, and they go to specials every week (PE, music, art, library). She's having lots of fun!

Lastly, I am way behind on posting daily outfits, so here are a bunch from the past week+ ...the weather has been crazy alternating hot/cold so we've been wearing both warm and cold weather outfits!

Biker babes :-)

Rainy outside today, but that didn't stop Miss Raya from showing off her 2-wheelin' skills! :-)

Brielle may still have training wheels, but she still thinks she's hot stuff lol

Oops! Too close to the rocks ;-)

She likes Daddy to give her a little push to get started

"Mama, look at me too! Take my picture! I riding my bike too!"

Yes you are Brielle, good job ;-)

Two Wheels

Before I forget:

1) Raya is riding her bike without training wheels! Lee took the training wheels *and* pedals off her bike a week or so ago and made it into a "balance bike"...so she learned to balance and coast down our drive way. Then Wednesday night he put the pedals back on and within minutes Raya was riding like a big girl---no more training wheels! She can't go long distances or anything, but she can ride up and down our driveway and through our grass and stuff. :-)

2) Raya had her best soccer game to date last night. She actually got some good kicks in and stayed with the pack of kids for the most part (she does get tired running though---no track and field in her future I don't think! )

3) Today was School Spirit day for homecoming and yesterday I realized we owned NOTHING from the school haha. So of course I had to quickly sew something! Go Mustangs ;-) I used the logo from their website and random scraps of maroon I had laying around. Next time if I have more than a couple hours notice I think I'd buy some fun patterned fabric...but this served it's purpose today!

Today was the last dress up day of homecoming week---school spirit day. So of course yesterday I realize that we do not own a single Mount Vernon *anything* lol. So I had to quick sew something with random scraps I had laying around! (and yes, being raised a Lisbon Lion it pained me a little to be sewing Mustang clothing, but I guess I need to get used to it ;-)

Happy Friday everyone!

Superhero Day!

I apologize for the short posts of late....I've just been so busy! I've been up until 1am every night sewing Etsy orders....my shop is staying busy! I also have lots of photo sessions this month....As of last night I have a photo session schedule for *every* Saturday AND Sunday in the month of October, except for the 26th which is our anniversary. So between sewing and photos I don't have much time for blogging long entries!

In other news, yesterday I ordered a backdrop and stand so that I can experiment with setting up a little home studio! We'll see if I like it---I really prefer outdoor photos and I don't feel like getting all kinds of backgrounds and props for indoor stuff. But I thought that maybe having a small indoor set up would be good for clients that were wanting infant pics in the winter, since you can't really stick a baby out in the snow haha. So stay tuned as I experiment with that!

Today is superhero day at school today for homecoming week. Do not fear, "Captain R" has things under control at preschool! Although she informed me multiple times this morning "Do NOT call me Captain R....my name is Rayana, and Rayana is my super hero name. Captain R is a rude name to say" ....oops, won't happen again Captain R

Happy Thursday! Raya's 3rd soccer game is tonight, assuming the rain holds off---we'll see!

Wacky Wednesday

Another super short post today---sorry!

It's homecoming week at Raya's school so every day is a dress up day this week. Today was "wacky Wednesday" so Raya got to put together a wacky outfit---she loved it! Too bad she's so adorable that even her wacky outfit ends up looking aweseome ;-)

The true sign of a fashionista! Today was "wacky Wednesday" for homecoming week at school. Raya put together a super wacky outfit and she *still* looks awesome lol. She thought this dress up day was the coolest thing ever :-)

Welcome October, PS

As a P.S. to my post from this morning, here is how we ushered in Oct. 1st tonight....with glow-in-the-dark skeleton pjs! The girls thought they were the coolest thing ever ;-) We also enjoyed our first day of October, my favorite month, by making homemade applesauce from the neighbors apple trees!

Trendy Tot Tuesday

Happy October 1st everyone!

(Linking up with Kelly, Megan, and Lindsay for trendy tot Tuesday)
